Getting removed from the AHBL isn't a difficult matter - provided you have actually taken care of the problem in question, and contact us in the proper manner.
Some hints for people requesting removals...
- Don't lie to us, as we have heard it all before. Misrepresenting your situation may lead us to believe you are actively supporting spammers or other abusive conduct, and will make your removal efforts difficult to impossible.
- Don't try to move a spammer to another netblock, as we will carefully research before delisting to ensure you are actually terminating a spamming customer and not just moving them around.
- Don't make legal threats, or even insinuate threats against us. It will not help you, and will get you a more permanent listing that you can't get removed easily.
Following the instructions below will help you to navigate our removal process:
- Read the error message you received. If it says you are listed in the dnsbl.ahbl.org, rhsbl.ahbl.org, or ircbl.ahbl.org, keep following the instructions below. If the error message you are receiving says that you are listed in tor.ahbl.org list, you can not be removed. Please stop using TOR for the site/service and try again.
- Go to the Lookup Page and put in your IP address or domain name that is currently being blocked.
- Read the reason why you are being blocked and figure out how to take care of the problem. For example, if you are listed as being an Open Proxy, check your machine for a virus or trojan, and make sure it is not infected. If you were listed as a Spam Source, terminating the customer that is spamming is a good way to handle the problem.
- Once you are done with solving the problem, and you have confirmed that your host(s) are actually listed in our database, there will be a removal link that you can click on to request delisting.
